Steve Yeager has been actively involved in the real estate industry since 1975. Beginning my career in Topeka, Kansas as a broker/manager of a residential real estate company with 12 broker agents, I found my forte was in the commercial aspect of the business. After four years on the residential side of the business I made the switch to retail leasing by becoming a leasing representative in 1979 for the Macerich Company, a national shopping center developer based in Santa Monica, California. After several relocations in the first four years with Macerich I was relocated in 1982 to Boulder, Colorado. I was part of the team that was challenged with the second redevelopment of the then Crossroads Mall (Boulder). Without the benefit of any pre-leasing, the two level addition of 119 new Tenants comprising 528,000 sf were all built, leased and opened within a 12 month period. This was accomplished with 92% occupancy at opening, which was quickly followed within six months to 96% occupancy. I remained in Colorado working at various times with five other retail shopping centers in Colorado as well as nine other shopping centers in the greater mid west area. I have negotiated in the excess of 1,000 lease documents as senior leasing manager. In 2005, I left the Macerich Company to pursue my career as a broker with Lampert Properties, which in 2007 merged with David/Hicks Brokerage to become David, Hicks & Lampert Brokerage. I participated as part of the brokerage Team that leased the 1.7M sf Southlands Town Center from 2006 to 2009. Instrumental in the ground-up development and leasing of the first-ever major retail development on a military installation – Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss. In 2016, I formed GroupG Real Estate, a company dedicated to providing personalized service to national, regional and local retail and restaurant Tenants, in addition to extensive experience with Landlord representation.
